There’s nothing like a little quality time at Home Depot! Actually, on Saturday, Home Depot was only one of our stops. We were mainly making the selections for our basement bathroom, but we were also looking at other materials (tiles and the like) for the main floor renovation. We did have a second destination– to order our main bathroom tub and shower kit– but we arrived too late to place the order. And with a 2-4 week lead time, that order needs to be placed ASAP.
Our Saturday trip to Home Depot was fairly successful. We were able to select the tub, toilet and faucets without too much difficulty. My wife and I are lucky to have similar tastes, so there was virtually no disagreements. The kid, however, was getting pretty antsy and was trying our patience, but aside from that, this trip to Depot was almost stress-free.
Our next stop was a certain membership-only showroom where products can be ordered at wholesale prices. I won’t name it here, but you’ve probably seen the infomercial. Unfortunately, we arrived too late to place the order, and the soonest I can return to place the order is today (Tuesday).
On Sunday, we returned to Home Depot to compare bathroom fixtures to those available at that other showroom, since we had little luck finding anything we liked in our price range. As it turns out, we found something we both liked at Home Depot and we will spend about $500 less than we otherwise would have for something neither one of us was crazy about.
I started moving things into our second storage unit on Monday, but there is still a lot of work left to do in preparation for the contractor to start tomorrow. I guess I should probably get to work now….
