Baby steps….

Tuesday, 4 July 06

I only worked on the bathroom demolition for a couple of hours today. I had spent a couple of hours helping a friend dig some post holes for a deck and by the time I got home, I only had a three hour window before my wife came home from work. However, in the two and a half hours that I worked on the bathroom, I added another several hundred pounds of debris.

Did I mention how thick the walls are?

This is one helluva thick wall.

This is one helluva thick wall.

You can see the 2×4 stud to the right. All that material to the left is the wall. And this picture doesn’t even show the portion of the wall that was tiled. (By the time this picture was taken, all the tile was gone) Tomorrow I’ll finish ripping the walls down, and probably get most of the ceiling down as well. Then on Thursday, I can start on the floor. The aim is to finish gutting the bathroom by the weekend and get started on gutting the basement.

State of the bin
